Abu Simbel Temples
Abu Simbel, Aswan Governorate 1211501, Egypt

The Abu Simbel Temples are a pair of ancient temples located in southern Egypt, near the border with Sudan. The temples were built during the reign of Pharaoh Ramesses II in the 13th century BC and are known for their impressive scale and detailed carvings. The larger of the two temples is dedicated to Ramesses II, while the smaller temple is dedicated to his wife, Queen Nefertari. The temples were relocated in the 1960s due to the construction of the Aswan High Dam, and are now a popular tourist destination and a UNESCO World Heritage site.
