Take a day trip from Izmir to the stunning natural wonder of Pamukkale. Explore the remarkable white travertine terraces and delve into the history of ancient Hierapolis. With guided visits and transportation included, this tour is perfect for those looking to experience one of Turkey’s most famous landmarks in a single day.
You will be picked up from Izmir hotels, Izmir Port or Izmir Bus Terminal at around 7:00 am to begin the full-day tour of Pamukkale and Hierapolis. The duration from pick up location to Pamukkale is approximately 3.5 hours depending on traffic. You’ll have lunch in a local restaurant with our tour guide. After lunch, you will visit; Necropolis, Roman Baths, Domitian Gate, Latrina, Oil Factory, Frontinus Street, Agora, Byzantium Gate, Triton Fountain, Cathedral, Apollon Temple, Plutonium, Theater and Antique Pool which are all located in Hierapolis. You will find a chance to take photos of the best spots in Pamukkale while walking through the travertines without shoes/slippers and socks. At the end of the tour around approximately 4:00 pm, you will be transferred back to your hotel in Izmir, Izmir Port or Bus Station at around 8:30 pm (travel duration is estimated at 3.5 hours). IMPORTANT INFO:
- This is a regular group tour, but if requested at cost can be provided as a private tour.
- The regular group tour has a shopping stop included in the tour.
- A moderate amount of walking is involved.
- Not wheelchair accessible.
- You can swim in the Antique pool in Pamukkale. However, please note that there is an extra charge that you will have to pay directly at your own expense before entry to the pools. This entrance fee to the pools is not covered as part of your tour. Please note that you must bring your own towel, swimsuit etc. if you need to use the pools.
WHEN TO BOOK?
- Book as soon as possible to guarantee availability, especially during public holidays and festivities.
- You can book up to 2 days before (Istanbul local time) if there are still places available. If less than 2 days before start of your requested tour date, please contact us by email or phone as it would be a last-minute booking that will need to be checked for availability before your tour reservation is confirmed.

The highlight of the trip was the Cleopatra Spring, a really cool place to swim. A long drive from Izmir but our guide Hasan was fantastic & kept us entertained on the way, he really went out of his way to find us a delicious veggie option for lunch & even made us a dinner reservation for the evening.
